Plot E: Eva Witthans, 1824-1887
Eva Witthans was born in Prötzlow, Kurhessen, Germany January 26th 1824. She was the widow of Frederick Witthans. Eva died of dropsy July 14th or August 8th1887 in the South Park section of South Saint Paul at the age of 63. She was interred at Salem EV Kirchhof. [SSP]
Witthans – Eva Witthans passed away peacefully in Jesus the 14th of July 1887 at South Park, Dakota County, Minnesota. Dehydration and liver disease caused her death. Born on the 26th of January 1824 at Prötzlow, Kurhessen, Germany. She came into American society at the age of 28 years and soon became the 2nd wife of Friedrich Witthans, the sorrowing husband. In the year 1870 she was born again in the Holy Spirit and enrolled in our church, remained faithful to God up through her death. She was pious in life and devoted to God in death. A husband, child, uncle and many friends appear full of hope for her in eternity.

Plot F: Friedrich Witthans, 1828-1898
DIED – Mr. F. Witthans died at the city hospital Thursday, April 28, 1898, after several months’ illness. The following Saturday at two o’clock the funeral services were held at the German Evangelical Church at West Saint Paul, Reverend Mueller officiating. The remains were interred at Salem. Mr. Witthans was one of the pioneers of Dakota County. He lived for some time in New Trier after which he moved to Inver Grove, and later to West Saint Paul. His funeral was attended by a large number of relatives and friends. His age was 70 years. A son and four grandchildren are left to mourn his departure. Friedrich Witthans was born circa 1828 in Germany. He died April 28th 1898 at the age of 70. Friedrich was interred in lot 4 of Salem EV Kirchhof.
