Plot B: Jacob Binder, 1833-1914 (Died 2/28/1914)

Jacob Binder Succumbs. Dies in West Saint Paul
Jacob Binder, an old-time resident of Inver Grove, died late Friday at the home of his son Leonard Binder, former chief of police in West Saint Paul. The deceased was 80 years of age. The funeral will be held on Tuesday from the home of his son at 158 East Haskell Street. Interment will be made in the Salem Cemetery. [South Saint Paul Daily Reporter: Mon., 3 Mar. 1914]

Plot C: Barbara (Burkhardt) Binder, 1836-1902 (6/17/1836 – 3/29/1902)

Binder – Barbara (Burkhardt) Mrs. Jacob Binder a Popular Resident of Inver Grove, Passes Away. Mrs. Binder’s maiden name was Miss Barbara Burckhardt. She was born June 17th, 1836, in Albrect Hansen Oberamt Kreisheim Wertenberg, Germany. She was but seven years old when her parents died suddenly with the fever. She spent her childhood and youth in Germany, being well educated. In 1856 she immigrated to America, and settled in Rochester, New York, where she met Mr. Jacob Binder, and in 1858 they were united in marriage, remaining there for seven years, after which they drifted west, coming to Minnesota in 1865, and settled in Inver Grove. She joined the German Evangelical Church and was an active member until her death. They were blessed with seven children of which two sons died, John in 1892, and William in 1885. At the time of her death she was in her sixty-sixth year. Funeral services were held at the German Evangelical Church, Easter Monday at 2:00 p.m. She leaves a heart broken husband, two daughters, Mrs. Adam Kurth, of Inver Grove, Mrs. Emil Hayek of the city, and three sons, Dr. G.A. Binder, of Dayton’s Bluff, and Leonard and Andrew, who are still at home, ten grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Katherena Glassing. (West Saint Paul Times: Sat., 5 Apr 1902)

Margaret Binder (Died 8/13/1913) (Jacob Binder married Margaret Baker (Reichstadt) after his first wife Barbara died in 1902.  Margaret is buried in Salem ME Cemetery.)

Plot F: William Binder, 1871-1884 (11/25/1871 – 7/23/1884)

William Binder was born November 25th 1871 to German parents Jacob and Barbara (Burkhardt) Binder in Inver Grove Township. William died of diphtheria in Inver Grove Township at the age of 13. He was interred in lot 3 of Salem EV Kirchhof. [IGT]

Plot G: John Binder, 1868-1882 (4/1/1868 – 3/28/1882)

John Binder was born April 1st 1868 to German parents Jacob and Barbara (Burkhardt) Binder in either Inver Grove Township or New York. He died March 28th 1882 of erysipelas in Inver Grove Township at the age of 14. John was interred in lot 3 of Salem EV Kirchhof. [IGT]
